Belindabilly is organic, fair trade and handmade. We are an eco-friendly fashion company that brings sustainability to the cocktail dress.
Our mission is to reinvent eco-fashion and to stamp out the misconception that organic clothing has to be plain, drab, and casual. We aim to fill in the upscale end of the eco-friendly wardrobe, and bring our clients sustainable outfits for work, social events, date night and even the red carpet.
Belindabilly was founded as a one-of-a-kind clothing website in 2007 by designer Belinda Paige Blakley while studying at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Since then, we have found our niche in the sustainable fashion market and grown our signature looks into a full line. Belindabilly is known for a unique, retro-vibe and ultra-feminine look, focusing on “favorite” statement pieces that never loose their charm. Not only is Belindabilly clothing made with sustainable materials and practices, but we provide timeless pieces that will be worn again and again, creating less waste and removing our clothing from the “fast fashion” cycle.
Belindabilly clothing is sewn in the USA, sourcing fair trade and organic fabrics. Our website is powered by renewable energy. If you have a suggestion for how we could increase our sustainability, we’d love to hear it.

We look forward to a future where clothing no longer has a negative impact on the environment, and provides a good living for all those who work in the clothing and textile industry.
For our part, we hope to be your first thought for cocktail dresses and elegant work-wear, and to make your wardrobe more eco-friendly, piece by pretty piece.
About Belinda Paige Blakley
Belinda Paige Blakley attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from 2006-2010, where she founded Belindabilly. While there, she studied fashion design, and fiber & material studies. She is known for timeless designs that have an avant-garde edge, while still being wearable. In 2013, she split her brand into two separate lines—Belindabilly, the signature perennial line of dresses and feminine separates, and Belinda Paige, a modern line producing small, seasonal runway collections. She currently lives in Highland Park, NJ with her husband, currently studying for his PhD in history, and their grey cat.
Belindabilly believes that an ethical clothing business must have sustainable practices, and that sustainability is not just about using organic fabric, but about creating an ethical business model that is responsive to local and global communities’ needs.
- We maintain high standards for our fabrics, sourcing textiles made from sustainable farms that don’t use pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or any other harmful chemicals.
- When we work with textile wholesalers outside the U.S., we only purchase from companies that pay their employees a living wage and have safety policies and standards in place.
- We take sustainability into considerations for all of our business operations, including using a solar-powered hosting service for our website, purchasing recycled paper for our office, using CFL bulbs in the studio, recycling our fabric scraps and more.
- For specific questions about our sustainability practices, or if you have any suggestions, please use the Contact Us page; we’d love to hear from you!
